Dental sealants are a tooth-colored acrylic coating that’s painted onto your tooth surface. This resin fills the deep grooves on your tooth’s surface, shielding your teeth against food debris that can easily become stuck – becoming a breeding ground for bacteria and plaque.
Smooth tooth surfaces make it easier to clean your teeth and thus prevent plaque build-up. This is especially helpful to our younger patients who often struggle to care for their back teeth.
